Mixing and Mastering

About our Mixing services

Here at Urchin Studios we have over 15 years of experience mixing for a huge range of artists, from bedroom producers to Grammy and Brit award winners and even a John Lewis advert.

First and foremost we understand that every project is different and this means approaching every mix first and foremost from a creative angle rather than a technical one.

Mixing should be a collaborative process, so before we even start on a track we love to chat to the artist about what they’re looking to achieve, listen to reference tracks and discuss any concerns.

Whether it’s your very first single as a self funded artist, or a seasoned professional signed to a major label we take the same amount of care over every mix.

Who we've worked with

Remote mixing vs Attended Sessions

Attended sessions

Here at Urchin Studios we welcome attended sessions as they are often the very best way to communicate the artists vision as well as being more time efficient when it comes to small adjustments.

Online sessions

Where visiting the studio itself isn’t possible we can still offer a comprehenseive remote mixing service to anyone in the world, and artists can even live stream their music as it is mixed via Audiomovers’ “Listen To” service to ensure adjustments are to their liking.

Frequently asked Questions

Every track is different and as such we quote every mix job individually . As a rough guide this usually means between £200 and £500 per track and may depend on factors such as:

  • Number of tracks
  • Complexity of track(s)
  • Timescale i.e how quickly it needs to be turned around
  • Whether the artist is self funded/indie
  • or signed to a record label

Please do reach out for a quote using our contact page, and if at all possible please include a rough mix of the track(s)

This really depends on what the track needs. Nowadays with digital recordings and amazing sounding plugins there are plenty of advantages to keeping the audio in the digital domain. However where sounds need some really analogue ‘spice’ then we will add in some analogue flavour whether that be a compressor, tape echo or even some guitar pedals!

Yes! Please contact us for further info

Yes, certainly – we have plenty of experience in this field. Whether you want a transparent fix to correct a few notes or a full on auto-tuned “Cher” treatment we have you covered (additional charges may apply)

Putting a limit on the number of revisions is something that has always made us uncomfortable. Some tracks just need more time than others!
